Anti-Roll e Barras estabilizadoras para Ford F53

Ford F53 Sway Bars

The Ford F53 RV functions well in most areas, but when taking a sharp corner or being passed on the highway by large vehicles, it can can be difficult to keep the vehicle from moving from side to side. An upgrade in the sway bar will reduce the instability that the RV has in these situations.

How do Ford sway bars work?

Sway bars are a component of the suspension system. They are essentially torsion springs. Body roll is what happens when the force generated by turning shifts the weight of the RV to the side opposite of the turn. This leads to the feeling that the RV is about to roll over, hence the name.

Sway bars counteract body roll by shifting the turning force from one side of the suspension to the other. They connect the right and left parts of the suspension, which compresses the springs of the suspension system during turns and distributes the force evenly. This keeps all four tires of the RV on the ground.

Where is the Ford F53 sway bar located?

Sway bars, both front and rear, are located underneath the RV and are positioned between each wheel. They form a link between each and are tied into the suspension system through a set of lever arms connected to torsion springs.

How do sway bars affect handling?

The Ford F53 has both front and rear sway bars. Each affects handling in different ways.

  • A worn, broken, or subpar front sway bar will exhibit excessive play in the steering wheel, especially at high rates of speed, which can lead to an accident. If they are working as they should, drivers will experience tighter, more precise steering.
  • The rear sway bar controls how the RV rides. Its purpose is to reduce how much the RV sways when taking corners or moving laterally as is done when changing lanes.
Why would you upgrade your Ford sway bars?

The following reasons provide motivation for upgrading these suspension parts of the Ford F53 vehicle:

  • The installed factory bars are not strong enough to maintain a comfortable, precise ride in high wind conditions or once weighted down and subjugated to sharing the road with other large vehicles.
  • Larger sway bars provide better performance, do a much better job at resisting lateral movement, and provide more reaction time and better control in unpredictable situations than their smaller counterparts.
Do better sway bars improve the vehicles ride?

RVs have a high center of gravity. This makes them susceptible to adverse lateral movement in high wind conditions, traveling less than perfect roads, and sharing the road with oversize vehicles. Better bars provide better handling and a more comfortable, stable driving experience.
