The petcock functions as the valve on your Valkyrie motorcycle that controls access from the reserve tank to the main gas supply. There is an extra gas tank on the bottom of your Honda Valkyries main gas tank. The function of this tank is to provide the emergency stash of fuel it houses if the main tank in your bike runs out. Utilizing your extra tank is essential to get to more fuel to the engine and prevent the bike from stalling.

• Attach the new part to the motorcycle by sliding the filter and pipe up into the tank very carefully. Check to be sure you have fastened it tightly to prevent leaks.
• Reattach your Honda bikes fuel lines.
• While refilling your Honda bikes tank, check for any leaks.

Sometimes, your Valkyries fuel lines can get clogged. So, the petcock usually comes with a 4 to 5-inch filter screen to filter out any debris and prevent it from reaching your Hondas carburetor.
