Hunting Camouflage Face Paint

Similar to military face paint, hunters use camo face paint to help them easily blend into surrounding foliage to conceal their presence. Game animals with excellent vision may be able to easily distinguish movement from the hunter without it. Hunting face paint packs come in a variety of shades and is often designed to last long times without reapplication.

How do you put on camouflage face paint sticks?

Face paint for hunting is relatively simple to apply. The camouflage comes in stick form, and you can glide the camouflage paint over your face to evenly spread the colors. You can apply the colors in any style you desire to closely match the colors of your surroundings. Most often you will not need to apply multiple layers with a camo stick unless you want to mix colors together.

How do you remove camo face paint?

Most camo face paint is easy to remove with soap, water, and a cloth. You will not normally need special gear or chemicals to scrub the paint off of your skin, as camouflage paints are designed to come off with regular cleaning. Military face paint may stain clothing depending on the color of the clothing. To clean camo clothing stains:

  • Gently wet the camouflage stained area of clothing with a cloth.
  • Rub glycerine or vegetable soap on the stained area.
  • Stretch out the stained fabric and run fast-moving hot water over it.
  • Once most of the stain is removed, wash the clothing as normal.
Will camouflage face paint withstand the elements?

Most camo face paint will handle moderate elemental exposure and will work well alongside your hunting gear. Extreme temperatures of either cold or hot may cause chipping or melting to occur, resulting in poor performance of the camouflage face paint. Normal amounts of sweating or rainfall should not interfere with the application of your face paint.

How do you store face paint?

Hunting face paint will generally melt or freeze in extreme temperatures and should be stored in or around room temperature. Although it may melt, camouflage will return to a normal state once brought to room temperature. No special containers or packs are needed to preserve the paint.

Which hunter face paint patterns work well?

  • Military break-up - Series of three colors randomly painted on a face
  • Blackout - Completely putting black paint on face to achieve a shadowy look
  • Diagonal streaks - Three colors painted in diagonal lines across the face
