Ford Focus Interior Door Panels and Parts

Ford began production on the Focus in 1998 and then introduced it to the market in 2000, and three generations have been produced: between 1998 and 2005, between 2004 to 2011, and from 2011 and continuing through 2018. Door panels and parts specifications are similar between the years and generations as the only difference is how the body style changed. When you are ready to upgrade or replace a part of your door panel, there are the parts to install door handle reinforcement, an entire passenger side door panel, and more.

Are door hinges common on the 2002 and 2014 Focus?

The style of the front door hinges has remained consistent throughout every year and generation of the Ford Focus. Two are required for each front door — an upper and a lower. Rear door components vary by year and trim, but they still require the same two-hinge configuration as the front door. The hatchback models use hydraulic lifts; however, replacement requires a pair of hinges, just as with the other doors.

Are the interior door handles interchangeable?

The interior door handles are interchangeable between various packages, models, and years. There is one exception, however, and that is regarding whether the door panel has a manual or automatic window control. The door handle parts vary between those two packages. You may choose to replace the entire handle kit within the door panel rather than just the handle itself. The trim around the handles is specific to the interior color. For instance, charcoal gray may be an option.

Are Ford Focus door panels interchangeable between trim packages?

The Focus door panels are interchangeable between the same packages within the same generation. For example, the 2012 LX model will take the same door panel as the 2016 LX. Front and rear panels are not interchangeable within any category. The hatchback and wagon interior panels are specific to trim package and generation. The front and rear door panels do come complete with molded arm rests.

What parts are required to change the interior door locks?

The parts required depend on how the lock is malfunctioning within the door. If the door lock unlocks immediately after you have attempted to lock it, then you may just need to replace the cable behind the door panel. If, on the other hand, the electronic lock itself is not operating appropriately, then you may need to replace the cylinder, which is located within the lock assembly behind the door panel. An entire assembly kit is also an option if the repair is more extensive.
