Your Guide for Selecting Panasonic CRT Video Monitors

Panasonic cathode ray tube (CRT) video monitors come in a variety sizes, and they produce images in high resolution, among many other features. These video displays are for those who prefer CRT technology rather than LCD displays.

These CRT monitors have a wide range of features not found in LCD displays. Unlike LCD screens, CRT monitors do not use pixels. There are also no ghosting effects with these monitors because of their instant response times, and images from these video displays appear the same regardless of the viewing angle. Additionally, these displays have the following features:

• Accurate and vibrant color: CRT monitors display real-world colors and are better at producing gradients from one color to another
• Adaptable resolutions: These displays do not need to scale images when displaying at different resolutions. They are able to maintain high image quality regardless of resolution.
• Serviceable: CRT displays are repairable when they are damaged or malfunctioning.

CRT monitors, by their nature, are analog devices, which means that they must be connected to a computer using a video graphics array (VGA) cable and connector. If your computer does not have a VGA port, however, you can still connect one of these displays to it. You will need to use a VGA-to-DVI converter, which will convert the analog signal into a digital one. You then insert this converter into the DVI port of your computer and attach the VGA cable to the converter.

These video displays come with a thin coating on top of the glass surface. So as not to damage this coating, it is recommended that you clean these displays with a lint-free cloth that is non-abrasive. Use a non-abrasive cleaning solution that does not contain any form of alcohol. Preferably, use either water or a mild or diluted detergent.

A screensaver is a necessity with these types of displays. If the same image displays on a CRT monitor for too long of a period, the image can burn into the screen. Screensavers solve this problem by displaying an animated image that is changing constantly. Most operating systems automatically display a screensaver after a set amount of user inactivity occurs.
