Replacing the cars radiator is a process that involves many different systems on your 6. For some, the sheer magnitude of the repair is too intimidating, but with the right tools and enough time, it can be done. Here is a simplified explanation of how to replace your 6s radiator.

  • Remove the bumper/cover, headlights, and radiator cover by removing the bolts, screws, and clips holding them in place.
  • Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses, drain the antifreeze from the lower radiator hose, and remove all other connected components.
  • Remove the electrical connection and remove the bolts holding the radiator in place to drop the radiator.
  • Bolt the new radiator to the fan assembly, reconnect the electrical connection and all other hoses, and finally the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  • Reinstall the radiator cover, bumper/cover, and headlights. Then, add coolant until it reaches the maximum level. After that, turn on your vehicle and allow it to run so the antifreeze can circulate throughout the system and so you can check for proper operation.
