Rolex GMT-Master II 116718LN

Rolex made some significant changes when it released the Ref 116718LN. The first is the new Super case. The Super case is thicker than the cases that came before it. It's still 40 millimeters in diameter, but wider lugs and larger crown guards create a new look.

The Swiss watchmaker also introduced the new Maxi dial. Rolex sized up the many intricate details on the watch's face to accommodate the beefier case. The index markers are larger, and the hands are broader. You'll also notice that Rolex changed the previously red 24-hour hand to a greenish blue.

You also have the Cerachrom bezel on this Rolex gold timepiece. Rolex replaced the older aluminum inserts used on prior bezels with proprietary ceramic material. The bezel in the Ref 116718LN gold watch is black and has gold-colored markings for the 24-hour scale. Cerachrom is more scratch- and fade-resistant than aluminum, giving this watch even more rugged appeal.

Finally, there's the new Caliber 3186 movement. The self-winding movement offers up to 50 hours of power reserve. Rolex also included its Parachrom hairspring to replace the previous one made by a third-party company. The Rolex-designed Parachrom hairspring is high-precision, resistant to shocks, and anti-magnetic.
