The Rolex GMT-Master II Ref 126710BLRO: A New Take on the Classic "Pepsi"
This Rolex stainless steel watch is the newest iteration of the revered GMT-Master II line. The original GMT-Master burst onto the scene in 1954. In 1983, Rolex refined the movement and core design of the GMT-Master to allow wearers to track three different time zones. Thus, the Rolex GMT Master II was born. This collection of watches continues to be one of Rolex's most popular timepieces, and the Ref 126710BLRO watch continues the line's legacy.
A Brand-New Movement
One of the biggest changes for this Rolex GMT Master II watch is the new Caliber 3285 movement. Rolex debuted this watch in 2018 alongside Ref 126710BLRO. It's a Superlative Chronometer that Rolex says is twice as precise as any other certified chronometer. Its accuracy rating is -2/+2 seconds a day. The Superlative Chronometer testing exceeds COSC standards, and Caliber 3285 meets the mark.
This movement also has the new Chronergy escapement. This Rolex-designed escapement improves energy efficiency, resulting in a considerably longer power reserve than movements that came before. Key features of Caliber 3285 include:

- Paramagnetic Parachrom hairspring
- Paramagnetic oscillator balance
- 28,800 VPH
- 31 jewels
- Independent 24-hour GMT hand
Modern Design Features
This Rolex GMT Master II watch looks similar to many timepieces of the past, but it sports several of Rolex's modern visual elements. For example, this Rolex stainless steel watch has a larger Maxi case and dial. The 40-millimeter Oyster case is the same diameter as older Rolex GMT Master models. However, it has thicker lugs, more prominent crown guards, and an overall more robust build.
To complement the Maxi case is a dial with better visibility. The dial has a black backdrop with Rolex's blue-glowing Chromalight index markings. The indices can glow up to eight hours after light exposure and are slightly larger to maximize visibility in dark environments. Each hour marking has an outline of white gold. The same goes for the hands. Additionally, the dial features a magnifying window display at the 3 o'clock position and a dedicated GMT hand in red.
The Pepsi Bezel
Surrounding the dial is a bidirectional bezel. For the Ref 126710BLRO stainless steel watch, the bezel uses a two-toned Cerachrom design. The red and blue combination is nothing new to the GMT-Master line. It is a nod to the first GMT-Master watches. The Pepsi-colored design is more than just a stylistic choice. It also helps the wearer differentiate between day and night hours when monitoring multiple time zones.
Bracelet
The Rolex stainless-steel watch is available with two bracelets. Get it with the standard three-link Oyster bracelet with a Fliplock clasp. Alternatively, it's available with the five-link Jubilee bracelet.
