About the adidas Yeezy 500 High Tyrian
The adidas Yeezy 500 premiered in 2017 with preorders for the Desert Rat colorway. In mid-2018, the 500 line really hit its stride with the Yeezy 500 Black. In 2019 we finally got the 500 as a Yeezy high top. Then Yeezy 2020 gave us the high 500 in this striking color.
Features of the adidas Yeezy 500 High Tyrian
The eponymous purple color pops both literally and figuratively, bubbling up past layers of darker, muted colors. The overlays are black, charcoal gray, and chocolate brown, providing a neutral background. The soles mirror this bulging look, with rounded shapes swelling past the line of the foot. The laces fasten with a toggle lacing system.
Materials of the adidas Yeezy 500 High Tyrian
The purple part of the Tyrian Yeezy is neoprene. The overlays are tumbled leather and buttery suede. The mudguard and outsole are rubber. The tongues are black neoprene. The soles are designed to cushion your feet with adidas’s patented adiPRENE.
Colorway of the adidas Yeezy 500 High Tyrian
The colorway of the Tyrian Yeezy is modeled on the famous red-purple dyes of ancient Tyre. This was one of the great trading cities of Phoenicia (modern-day Lebanon), and the Tyrians built their fortune on this famous dye.
Made from the secretions of predatory sea snails, it was one of the most prized products in the ancient world. Some sources represent it as more red, others as more purple. The Yeezy take on this color is a striking deep purple.
